Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Wrigleyville Iowa City (“Wrigleyville,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit iowacitybar.com, submit a form, join our email or text list, or interact with our advertising. By using this site you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

Wrigleyville Iowa City is a bar and event venue located at 118 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City, IA 52240. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Questions can be sent to Bar@iowacitybar.com.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us.

  • Contact and event inquiry forms: name, email address, phone number, event date, party size, and any message content you provide.
  • Job applications: name, contact details, position of interest, availability, work history, and anything else you include.
  • Marketing signups: email address and/or mobile phone number, plus your consent choices for email and SMS.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the site we and our service providers may collect IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and approximate location derived from IP.

Information from advertising platforms. If you interact with our ads on Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google, or similar platforms, those platforms may share aggregate or hashed identifiers with us for measurement and audience matching.

We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, or biometric data through this website.

3. How We Use Information

  • Respond to inquiries about events, private rentals, reservations, and general questions.
  • Review and process employment applications.
  • Send promotional emails and text messages about specials, events, game-day promotions, and news — only where you have opted in.
  • Create and maintain custom or lookalike advertising audiences on platforms such as Meta and Google.
  • Measure site performance, understand traffic patterns, and improve the site and our offerings.
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.
  • Comply with legal obligations, including recordkeeping and responding to lawful requests.

4. Legal Bases (EEA/UK Visitors)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information based on: your consent (marketing messages, non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (site security, analytics, responding to inquiries), the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request (event bookings, job applications), and compliance with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information with:

  • Service providers who host our website and database, deliver our email and text messages, and provide analytics — acting on our instructions only.
  • Advertising platforms, where hashed contact identifiers may be uploaded to build or suppress marketing audiences. Under some state privacy laws this may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” for cross-context behavioral advertising; you can opt out at any time (see Section 9).
  • Professional advisors such as lawyers and accountants, when reasonably necessary.
  • Law enforcement or other parties when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our guests, staff, or business.
  • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies for essential site functionality (such as remembering that you have already seen our signup popup), analytics, and advertising measurement. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site. Where required by law, we will ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies. We currently do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals, but we honor Global Privacy Control signals where legally required.

7. Email and Text Message Marketing

You are never required to consent to marketing messages as a condition of any purchase or service. Email opt-in and SMS opt-in are separate, optional checkboxes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message or by emailing us. Full terms are in our SMS & Email Terms page.

8. Data Retention and Security

We keep inquiry and application records for as long as needed for the purpose collected and to meet legal or recordkeeping obligations, then delete or de-identify them. Marketing list entries are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted transmission and access-controlled storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to request access or a copy, to correct inaccuracies, to request deletion, to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale/sharing of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Iowa, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may exercise these rights, as may EEA/UK residents under the GDPR.

To make a request, email Bar@iowacitybar.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity by matching the information you provide against our records and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent where the law allows; we may require proof of authorization. If we deny your request you may appeal by replying to our response with the word “Appeal.”

10. Children\u2019s Privacy

This website is intended for adults. We serve alcohol and our marketing is directed to individuals 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly send alcohol-related marketing to anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

Our site links to third-party services such as Instagram, Google Maps, and review platforms. Their privacy practices are their own and are not covered by this policy.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and where required by law we will provide additional notice.
